I originally saw this video over at 2 Dope Boyz.
I've been kind of absent as of late. I've been enjoying my summer waaaaaayyy too much. Catching up with friends, making new ones, you know...the usual I guess. I've also been spending some time with the various kiddies in my life (auntie loves you all MUAH!!!). So any who I said that to say this; my summer was hella busy and now that school has started, it will be even more chaotic.
Don't fret my pet! I've figured out a way to still be present here on the blog without being gone for months at a time. You're welcome, lol. I'v edecided to kind of do "abbreviated' posts. Basically I will just take a list of ish I've been wanting to blog about, and kill it in one shot Tonight, you'll get your first helping. Here goes...
I'm calling bullshit...
The woman pictured above needs no introduction. Some of you have already clutched your chest at the idea of me calling her a woman.
The first time I saw her speak, run, or even just paid attention to her physique I was like the majority "she's a he". I joked with the best of them. In the office, we've been debating back and forth. Bottom line is this kids...she is still a human regardless of gender. I feel the way her "situation" is being handled is very foul. I believe her testing should be done in a discreet manner where her business isn't on the World's stage. After all is said and done, what if she ends up being what she claims to be? What will we say then? Oops my bad! That won't cut it. By then, the damage would have already been done.
EAT YOUR VEGGIES!!!
Every now and again I may have someone ask me about the vitamins/supplements I take. Well recently I've started taking the Greens supplement shown above. Basically, the powder provides you with you daily recommended servings of fruits and veggies. I will admit though, the taste of the powder can be a little to veggie tasting. I've actually been using the tablets as of late, and they are outstanding. The formula is reasonably priced and can be found at your local Whole Foods or Harry's.
The Blueprint...
R.I.P. Aaliyah. Some of you read the heading of this one like "Blueprint?" Yeah I said it. Don't believe she was? Just ask Mya, Christina Millian, and any of the others that tried to duplicate her.
So three topics, one shot. BAM!!! Stay tuned peeps, more to come. Oh, and if you're not following me on Twitter yet, please do. Username: vmoney02 If you follow me, I promise you I will rant/go off on a tangent at least few times a day, lol.
During this installment of get live, I'm featuring Iron & Wine. Iron & Wine is actually one man by the name of Samuel Beam. This song is named "Boy with A Coin" and it is off of his 2007 release "The Shepard's Dog". I am going to post two videos. The first will be of him debuting the song at one of his live shows. The second will be of the actual video. The only reason I'm posting the video is because I thought it was beautiful and well shot (and its a bit easier to hear the verses). Lauri Fagioni was the director on this one. The dancers in the video did a very good job as well. (::If I have a daughter she is getting signed up for dance if she likes it or not::).
So here's a question for you...Why is it so hard for people to STAY faithful?
I've just never understood the point in letting a "good thing" go, and settling for something that may work out. Now a "good thing" may not necessarily be a be perfect thing, but with constant work it could be better. What brought this on you may ask? Story time all...
There is this guy I use to kick it with. Now I'm stressing the USE TO because I haven't had even the slightest desire to get at him since he acquired a girlfriend about a year ago. Someone right now is reading this like "but they aren't married". True, but he's already taken and I'm not so desperate that I need to be on his radar, or him mine (oh, and karma's a bitch). Any who, he hits me up on XBOX Live the other night while I was watching a movie. He's all like "When can I come kick it?" I nice and politely reminded him that he has a wife (girlfriend, she acts like his wife though) and that I think it would be wise for him to quit trying to come "kick it". I forgot to give you all the punchline...his girl is friends with my current roommate. POW! I reminded him of that fact as well, but he all but didn't care. Now no shade to the girl. I have met her before, and I think she is very nice. I (at a quarter of a century old) really have a certain amount of respect for anyone that is willing to work on their relationship versus constantly chasing greener pastures. Call me a romantic, but hey...
I honestly believe that if you have a solid 80% (or close to it) with your mate, you should never throw it away chasing the other %20. Let's do some basic math here...follow this equation. 80% > 20%...If 80% leaves you for 20%, and 20% gets bored what does that leave you with? ZERO. See..wasn't hanging on to 80% a lot better?
Any who, once he was able to pick up on the fact that I was a bit annoyed by the whole proposition he tried to switch the tone up. See the title of this blog? That's the next thing he hit me with. iQuit...
Window or aisle?
Depends? ;-)
So today, I'm posting a live performance Kanye did for his foundation. The first video is footage of Flashing Lights (my personal favorite), Through The Wire, Put On, and Hey Mama. The second video is footage of Jesus Walks, Heartless, Pinocchio Story, and Touch The Sky. Both videos are well worth the watch. As kind of a side note his band and background vocalists really held him down, Enjoy!
(*found these videos on the daily motion*)
I was on the phone the other night with a friend of mine and we were discussing some of the drama she's been dealing with lately. Now I can't put her business in the street, but after every topic she would always say "I'm worried about what they think". So I ask..."Who"? To which she replies "you know...the peanut gallery". Huh??? Basically she feels like a lot of the decisions she makes are going to be heavily criticized by the Peanut Gallery.
Look kids...(get close and focus), I'm going to give you my "Top 5" reasons as to why you (we) should take what others say for a grain of salt and keep it pushing. Hopefully these won't offend, but if they do maybe you're that person in the Gallery I'm referring to. Off we go...
*Side note* I'm just as guilty when it comes to the Peanut Gallery. So in no way am I acting like I am exempt from my "Top 5" (a la my tattoo saga with my dad, lol).
1. Opinions are just that...opinions...
2. Is your check signed by the Peanut Gallery? No? Well guess what, it's easy for them to offer suggestions/opinions on finances when its not their money they're spending. Do what's best for you when it comes to your cash.
3. Don't let the Peanut Gallery dictate YOUR relationship. Advice is cool, but take it for what it is worth. People really don't know (unless you choose to tell it all) the ins and outs of what you share with that someone special in your life. So to let their words guide you through your relationship is kind of bass ackwards.
4. Only YOU really understands what YOU need. If it makes you smile, that's all that matters.
5. If you fail at something so what? Who cares how the Peanut Gallery views you after your failure. You did more than they were willing to do anyway and by that I mean TRY. People talk all day, few rarely act.
Don't get me wrong, it is perfectly okay to listen to the advice that others offer. I think where most of us get caught up at is allowing said advice to become law. When it comes happiness, we can't allow others to dictate/force their ideas on to us. When we allow such actions, we are allowing ourselves to become puppets.

Hi all...
I'm going to be missing a for a few. No worries though. Once I come back, I will have a full review on the new Maxwell CD and a small review on the "Public Enemies" movie (it was hella good by the way). See you soon.
